"Roads + Junctions" was written, produced, and performed by Isobel Morris. Original release was in 2013. It's an attempt at white funk; a similar sonic environment to Stevie Wonder's Hotter than July album. Very clean and funky, with a Isobel's trademark harmonies and her foot firmly placed in the Moog synth that anchors the song.
In fact, "Roads + Junctions" is a veritable synth-fest, featuring Moog Slim Phatty, Kawai SX-240, Sequential Circuits Six-Trak, and Sequential Circuits Drumtraks. includes "Before We Say Goodnight" as side "B."
Quote from the wonderful blog Willard's Wormholes: "a rewarding variety of offbeat ideas, melodies, harmonies, instrumentation and creativity… music I’ve had a hard time describing in the past, as much of it seems to materialize out of thin air, like it was transmitted instead of composed."
lyrics
Strolling through
A bloodshot dawn
On my way
Won't be fooled
By idle thoughts
Of yesterday
It's too soon to make up my m ind
There's no time to wait behind
And it's too late to say goodbye...
It's a long way home
When you're on your own
And you're headed back a different way
I thought I knew
But I was wrong
To my dismay
'Cause it's too late to say goodbye,
Yes it is, oh it's too late to say goodbye.
It's a long way home...
