Isobel utilized elements from "Abandon Ship" to create "Rogue Wave." It was intended to be a remix of "Abandon Ship," but as happens from time to time, "Rogue Wave" took on a life of its own, a sister song to "Abandon Ship."

The foundation of "Rogue Wave" was put together on an iPad; Isobel used apps such as ReSlice, Samplr, Egoist, and Replicant to mangle and chop up the source material, then structured it and overdubbed numerous instruments.

As a bookend for the Abandon Ship E.P., "Rogue Wave" evokes the feeling of drifting in a boat, tempest-tossed, waves crashing all around. It closes with a piano-and-backwards-guitar reprise of the main "Abandon Ship" theme, played by the phenomenal Collin DeJoseph.
